Most of you know The Facial Room as Canada's #1 Eminence Organics retailer, and that will always be the heart of what we do. But after more than 30 years as an esthetician, I have learned that caring for your skin is only part of feeling well. How you wind down in the evening matters, too. So does the atmosphere you create at home.
That is why I am so pleased to introduce PS&CO. These are thoughtfully designed candles, hand-poured in small batches and made with the same attention to clean ingredients I love about Eminence skin care. As the evenings get longer, I cannot think of a nicer addition to your home.
Why I Chose PS&CO
When I consider a new brand, I ask the same questions I ask of any skincare formula: What is in it? Who makes it? And would I use it myself?
PS&CO answered every one of those questions beautifully.
The wax. Each candle is made with 100% natural coconut soy wax. It is non-toxic and biodegradable, and it burns cleaner with a better scent throw.
The wick. Every candle uses an eco-friendly, FSC-certified wooden wick. It crackles softly as it burns, which I find wonderfully calming on a cool evening.
The fragrance. PS&CO uses premium fine fragrance oils, including select blends with essential oils. They are free from parabens and phthalates. The candles are also free from lead, petroleum and synthetic dyes.
The vessel. Each candle comes in a refillable ceramic vessel that is lovely enough to keep. I appreciate any product designed to stay out of the landfill.
The people. PS&CO candles are hand-poured in small batches in Toronto. For every candle sold, $1 supports the Canadian Cancer Society. That meant a great deal to me.
Each 9 oz candle offers more than 50 hours of burn time, so one candle carries you through many quiet evenings.
The Four Scents
The Cozy Cabin is the one I reach for first in October. Salted caramel and tobacco leaf, grounded by soft oak with a hint of orange. It reminds me of crisp mornings, knitted blankets and a slow weekend with nowhere to be.

The Goddess is lighter and more floral. Wildflower opens it, sea salt softens the middle, and oakmoss adds an earthy depth at the base. It feels serene and natural, and it is a beautiful everyday candle for anyone who prefers fresh scents to heavier ones.
The Healer blends palo santo and wild sage, anchored by cedar and warm amber. It is calming and clarifying at the same time. I like to light it when I want a quiet reset at the end of a busy day, or when I am setting my intentions for the week ahead.
The Romantic is the warmest of the four. Sweet plum opens into black rose, with patchouli at the base and touches of vanilla and labdanum throughout. It is lovely for a dinner at home or a cozy night in with a good book.
A Small Tool I Recommend

I have also brought in the PS&CO Wick Clipper (Gold). Trimming your wick before each burn keeps the flame even and tidy, and it helps your candle burn cleanly for longer. It is a small detail that goes a long way. It also makes a thoughtful addition to a gift.
How to Enjoy Your Candle Well
A few simple habits help any candle perform at its best:
-
Give the first burn time. Let the wax melt all the way to the edges before you blow it out. This helps the candle burn evenly for the rest of its life.
-
Trim the wick before each burn. This keeps the flame steady and clean.
-
Never leave a candle unattended and keep it away from drafts, curtains and anything flammable.
Pairing a Candle With Your Evening Skincare
This is where PS&CO and Eminence Organics come together for me. In the evenings, I light a candle, cleanse with the Eminence Organics Stone Crop Gel Wash and take a few unhurried minutes to massage the Eminence Organics Facial Recovery Oil into my face and neck using upward, circular motions.
Those few minutes are often the calmest part of my day. When your skin is getting more attention in the cooler months, it is worth making the time feel good, too. If fall has left your skin feeling tight or reactive, my guide to supporting your skin barrier this fall walks through the full routine I recommend.
A Thoughtful Fall Gift
With Thanksgiving on October 12, a PS&CO candle makes a lovely gift. It is beautiful, useful and made in Canada. Pair it with the Wick Clipper for a complete gift, or add a Facial Room Gift Card so someone special can choose their own Eminence Organics favourites. It is also a wonderful way to begin your holiday gifting early.
Every order from The Facial Room includes six complimentary samples and orders over $49 ship free across Canada. As a Glow Rewards member, you earn 5 points for every dollar you spend, including on PS&CO.
You can explore the full PS&CO collection here. And if you love small-batch home and body products, the Rosco Emmit collection is another of my favourites.
